Under pressure: Blood pressure targets in trauma resuscitation

In this talk, James Gould covers the optimal resuscitation of trauma patients with hemorrhagic shock, traumatic brain injury and both. What is the best blood pressure for these scenarios, and how can we accomplish that goal. We cover massive hemorrhage protocol, permissive hypotension, management of severe TBI (GCS ≤ 8), and pressors in Trauma.

Summary:

Hemorrhagic shock MAP >65

Severe TBI (head injury with GCS ≤ 8): MAP >80-85

Both (hemorrhagic shock + TBI): MAP >80-85
